IPL Fantasy Cricket Tips #1 : MI v RPS

The teams : Mumbai Indians v Rising Pune Supergiants. Mumbai Indians are defending champions and have won the IPL twice. The Pune Supergiants, on the other hand, are the new kids on the block. They have some big names led by Captain Cool, M.S. Dhoni but it might take them some time to gel. Both teams have players capable of some serious fireworks. We expect a high scoring match so stock up on batsmen and all-rounders in your fantasy cricket team.

The Venue : The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Wankhede is a super high scoring ground where last year India conceded over 400 to South Africa in a one day game and, more recently, struggled to defend 193 against the West Indies. Not a good place to be a bowler!

Our picks for your fantasy cricket team

Lendl Simmons – Nine Lives Simmons dumped India out of the WT20 with his innings in the semi-final and although he got a duck in the WT20 final, he still has the highest batting average in the IPL.

Jasprit Bumrah – On a high scoring ground, Bumrah’s ability to bowl yorkers at the death will be crucial. He should definitely be one of the bowlers in your fantasy cricket team.

Kevin Pietersen – Pietersen now plies his trade all over the world and was in good form in the Big Bash. Wanting to play in the IPL was one of the reasons he fell out with the ECB and he will be keen to show the world that he’s still got the KP Factor, even though he is no longer playing international cricket.
