The Teams: Kings XI Punjab v Mumbai Indians (KXIP v MI). KXIP is already out of the tournament but will want to avoid coming last in the league table. They have had a number of close games – taking two encounters down to the last ball. KXIP won against DD but ended up on the losing side against RCB despite captain Vijay’s splendid knock of 89. With Maxwell and Miller continuing their poor form, KXIP will want Amla to come good at the top. MI on the other hand, have their work cut out for them if they are to make it to the top 4 – they need to win all their games from here on. Southee and Mitch McClenhegan bowled well in the last game restricting the powerful RCB batting and that effort was instrumental in MI’s crucial win.

The Venue: Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakapatnam. The last game here went down to the wire with SRH beating RPS in the last over. Adam Zampa picked up 6 wickets and with both KXIP and MI relying heavily on spinners, the tweakers will play a big role in this match.

Our picks for your fantasy cricket team

Murali Vijay – Vijay has been in terrific form ever since he took over as captain of KXIP. He has been rock solid in the top order and will be looking to end the IPL on a strong note, possibly setting himself up for captaincy in next year’s edition. Vijay is famous for scoring centuries in previous IPLs for CSK and will be looking to replicate that for KXIP.

Axar Patel – Axar Patel has picked up the only hat-trick of the tournament so far. His bowling in the last few games has been top notch and he has been the stand-out bowler for KXIP. Although KXIP is playing for pride, Axar will want to prove to the Indian selectors that he is worthy of a spot in the Indian team.

Krunal Pandya – Our wildcard pick for this game is Krunal Pandya. At the start of the IPL, everyone would have expected a Pandya to be playing in the MI starting XI but not many would have put their money on Krunal. He has contributed with both bat and ball, proving to be effective for MI. However, his team really needs him to step up now and win matches on his own.
