IPL Fantasy Cricket Tip #12: SRH v MI

The teams: Sunrisers Hyderabad v Mumbai Indians. On paper, both SRH and MI are batting heavy sides whose top orders have been misfiring. Both teams suffered losses over the weekend after batting first and registering scores of 142 and 143 – scores which just aren’t enough in this year’s IPL. MI have 2 points from their Rohit-inspired win against KKR and SRH will be eager to get off the mark on Monday.

The Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium – the wicket here is flat so one can expect both teams to score plenty of runs. Expect both sides to want to chase under lights, more to do with their recent losses batting first rather than anything related to pitch or outfield conditions.

Our picks for your fantasy cricket team

David Warner – Though it wasn’t enough to chase the target of 228, Warner looked in superb touch in his knock of 58 (25) against RCB. He will need to fire again but will also, as captain, look to ensure his teammates step up. MI relies on part-timers for anything between 4 to 6 overs, which Warner will be eyeing up as his opportunity to strike.

Mitchell McClenaghan – Mitch showed his ability with an exciting 4-21 versus Gujarat Lions, bringing MI back into the game with a superb penultimate over (even though it wasn’t enough in the end). His use of the yorker, bouncer and slower deliveries can rattle even the strongest of batting lineups, especially in the death overs.

Ashish Reddy – Our wildcard pick for this game is Ashish Reddy. He scored a handy 32 (18) in his first game and picked up a wicket in the second. His potential to deliver with both bat and ball make him a neat fantasy league pick!
