80: Rohit Sharma becomes India’s Bradman

October 21, 2019

It’s been a magnificent week in the world of cricket!
In this episode, Ashwin, DJ, and Varun are back together and they discuss about one of their mutual love: Cricket!

They start the discussion with the ongoing, India-South Africa test match.
‘Aiden Markram ruled out of the third Test with a self-inflicted wrist injury’ which DJ thinks is because of the trend that Stokes started by breaking his wrist punching the locker.

They also talk about Markram being a potential future South Africa captain and if this incident has put any dent in that decision or not. (All puns intended)

Some insightful thoughts on Shahbaz Nadeem coming in suddenly overnight into the squad in place of Kuldeep who is out because of an injury.

Rohit’s magnificent innings! They passionately talk about how Rohit Sharma is opening test matches and it feels like he’s been waiting for it all his life!
What a great knock by Sharma at a point when India was 39 for 3.

How can Rohit Sharma hit a six at 199 to get to 200 in a test match and how it reminded the trio of a legend!
He is the Indian Bradman with his average of 99.84 at home which is even higher than Don Bradman!

79: India Clinch Record 11th Consecutive Home Test Series Win.

October 14, 2019

It’s been a fun week in the world of cricket!
In this episode, Ashwin and DJ are in conversation while Varun is traveling back to Singapore.

A lot happened this week such as the world’s number one T20 team Pakistan has been thrashed 3-0 by a second-string Sri Lanka team, Mitchel Marsh has broken his arm by hitting a dressing room wall and more.

Moving ahead Ashwin and DJ they start with the India vs South Africa test series where India was leading 1-0 after winning the first test at Vishakhapatnam, some thoughts on the Pune pitch where India lost the last test match that they played there against Australia, Pune creating a pitch worthy of a test match with a bouncy track instead of a spinning wicket and how that leads to some interesting changes for the team.

They also talk through the change to the Indian cricket team: Vihari got dropped and Umesh Yadav a bowler, came in instead of him and of course no surprise in the decision but extremely disappointed for Hanuma Vihari.

With India making some changes how South Africa also dropped a spinner and played a fast bowler by seeing that pace is the way to go!

Some thoughts on Mayank Agarwal and what a player he’s turning out to be for India! He stepped up at the right time and we are hoping that he stands out for the team, Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in the test match and how it’s okay to fail sometimes, Is Rohit being overshadowed by Kohli and a lot more!
